Design principles highlighting spatial planning, Qibla orientation, supporting spaces, and adherence to Islamic jurisprudence

Ground Floor plan

Occupying a compact 0.17-acre site, this modestly scaled surau was built as a centre of unity for the Muslim community in Eco Horizon, promoting cohesion among its members. Its architectural design emphasizes a minimalist facade that is in harmony with the surrounding environment, showcasing the character of Islamic arches and simple forms integrated within a modern Islamic minimalist architectural framework.

The structure consists of two floors and encompasses a total area of 2,871.40 square feet. On the ground floor level, the main prayer hall is oriented towards the Qibla direction, maximizing the practical space. An additional space, referred as 'Ruang Limpah' can be created by opening the sliding doors, thereby allowing for an increased capacity of individuals to assemble and perform prayers.

Surau As-Sa’adah, designed with an open and minimalist layout to accommodate communal worship

Due to site constraint and to comply with Syariah Law, women's prayer hall is situated on an elevated platform, separated by stairs from the main prayer hall. The overall circulation is facilitated by a buffer, which functions as the corridor, thus creating spatial segregation between Muslimin and Muslimat.
