Institut Latihan Perindustrian Serian is an education centre located in the rural settlement of Serian, Sarawak. Completed in 2024, the institute is run under the project client, the Ministry of Human Resources, and currently caters to thousands of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) graduates and students each year through practical courses. Among the facilities and building services available, Saint-Gobain’s Weber product are used in the chiller plant area of this training centre.
Weberfloor EP 510 WB is an advanced, water-dispersed, two-component epoxy resin designed to deliver a durable and high-performance coating system. Ideal for demanding environments such as precast tunnel segments, industrial and food processing areas, laboratories, warehouses, car parks, and even water tanks, it offers versatile protection across a wide range of substrates. It can also function as an effective curing membrane for concrete, making it a reliable choice for both new construction and refurbishment projects.
The application process is straightforward, with simple steps that make it easy for most people to carry out with proper training — with proper protective gear being used. Surfaces must first be clean, sound, and free from contaminants, with concrete lightly grit blasted or diamond ground to ensure strong adhesion, and any cracks repaired beforehand. The product is then mixed using a low-speed mechanical mixer (300–600 RPM) for 2–3 minutes until uniform. Up to three coats depending on the required finish, ensuring each layer dries before the next is applied. For optimum results, the mixture will be used within its 45-minute pot life to maintain consistent colour and performance, achieving coverage of approximately 40–50 m² per 10 kg set per coat.
