ASTEEL ASHIN & CCP-100 for English Tea House
The English Tea House, designed by Sim, Odita & Muhammad Architects, is a traditional English-style teahouse situated along the riverbank near Fort Magherita. It now forms part of the scenic Kuching Waterfront, alongside Dataran Ibu Pertiwi, contributing to the area’s picturesque charm. This tea house was part of a beautification of Waterfront Kuching that began in 2017 but faced several delays due to the pandemic and construction challenges. Project complete in 2023, and on 2024 project handover to Grand Margherita Hotel.
As part of the construction, ASTEEL Group played a vital role in making this distinguished building’s design as it is today. ASTEEL incorporated their steel roofing system, ASHIN as well as CCP-100 Strip Panel, their classic metal strip ceilings for the interior and exterior ceiling finishes of the tea house.

These panels have aesthetic appeal as it comes in a few neutral yet trendy colour choices. These strip panels are also lightweight and long-lasting, allowing for easy maintenance. Furthermore, the strip panel's configurable range allows it to completely blend in with both the architecture's exterior and interior.
Being part of the envioSERIES by ASTEEL, these steel are recyclable and made up of 70% to 90% recycled content. The product's adaptability & flexibility, which allows it to be used in both curved and linear designs, is another benefit.
