Upgrading of SK Sageng

SK Sageng, designed by Catus Associates Sdn Bhd, reimagines a rural school in Simunjan, Sarawak as a connected educational and community hub. The project integrates new learning facilities, communal spaces, and retained structures through a climate-responsive design approach. Shaded walkways, open gathering areas, natural ventilation, elevated floors, and generous roof overhangs enhance comfort and resilience. Beyond upgrading facilities, the development strengthens the bond between education and community, positioning architecture as social infrastructure.
