BES2025 — Report
The Borneo Eco Show was held from 9th to 11th May 2025 (Friday to Sunday) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). The three-day event included a Design Forum, a Trade Expo, and concluded with the fun and energetic BEStride Borneo Run on Sunday.
The event was organised by BESTeam Sdn Bhd, led by Ar. Chai Si Yong and Ar. Stephen Liew, with support from Business Events Sarawak (BES), PAM Sarawak Chapter (PAMSC), and Swinburne Sarawak. They were also assisted by Absolute Cool Events Sdn Bhd (ACE) and Lek.
The show was launched by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, who praised the team for their hands-on approach—choosing to "just get on with it" instead of waiting around. He also highlighted how events like this help to promote Sarawak's culture, tourism, and local business.
The Design Forum featured eight speakers from Malaysia, the USA, China, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Indonesia. About 300 people attended, earning 10 CPD points. One of the highlights was the final Q&A session on the second day—it was lively, inspiring, and ran well past its scheduled time, filled with shared learning and laughter.
The event wrapped up with the BEStride Run on Sunday morning, where around 1,300 participants enjoyed a scenic run through Kuching's old town, bringing the weekend to a joyful close.
